Presented here are some electronic circuits that I have designed over the years and which you may find useful. Many of them will be associated with Amateur Radio operation including Packe Radio and other data communication. Others may be as mundane as a simple control for an emergency sump pump to keep your basement dry during power outages. Also you may find here other hints and kinks that I have found from 40 years of homebrewing experience. I hope that there is some information here that will make your own construction easier and more enjoyable.
Low Voltage Disconnect Circuit. A simple automatic circuit that will disconnect a battery before it can be discharged too low and be in danger of cell damage. Very useful for remote radio sites and to protect any battery used for emergency backup purposes.
12v Battery Capacity Tester. An application for the above mentioned LV Disconnect circuit that makes testing the amp-hour capacity of batteries a breeze.
12vDC Sump Pump Control. A simple control to turn on and off a 12v DC sump pump (like a boat bilge pump) as water level rises in the sump.
The "Kicker". A simple circuit that momentarily closes a pair of contacts at long intervals. Useful when you need to kick something into action every few hours or days.
Circuit board hints and kinks from 30 years of small scale PCB production experience.
"No Agitation" method of etching PCBs. An simple alternative for lazy people.
Care and feeding of Solid Carbide PCB Drills
Cleaning suggestions for PCBs. What you don't find in the literature.
A simple process for solder coating pc boards. Give the board a professional look.
